We go through some real use cases for smart contracts

Hi everyone!

I ask @andrarchy Andrew Levine the CEO of Koinos Group to go through the gFam platform and see what type of functionality might be implemented using smart contracts. While we started with this particular platform, the conversation contains lots of ideas about shaping incentive systems for users.

The primary focus of a blockchain is to distribute tokens, and really, the best use cases for blockchain are platforms, applications and systems where the users are unaware it’s all powered by a blockchain. The tokens can either be fungible (many identical tokens) or non-fungible (singular unique tokens) and smart contracts are really just a way to program in more complex methods of distribution.

Here is the conversation on Cinnamon.video:

Or, here is the same video in a YouTube embed:

This conversation has obviously given me a lot to think about. I already had a lot of ideas on what I wanted to focus on next, and clearly incentive programs that encourage the exact behaviour a platform needs to be successful is quickly rising to the top of the Must Do list.

If you have any thoughts or questions on this little chat on real use cases for smart contracts, please let me know. It’s a super confusing space but I think we can all create something really amazing…
