Monthly Income Report – August 2020

Let’s jump straight in!

I’ve now got 13 posts on this blog. With only 4 produced in September.

This monthly income report will include not just income from this blog, but income from my blogging efforts… this includes my content on PeakD.com, Cinnamon.video and Coil.com

I won’t be including the web-monetization from Coil and Cinnamon because it consists of hundreds of transactions… it’s honestly not much, a couple of dollars a month.

Income for September

+ $50 Cinnamon Boost

The boosts come in around the 15th, so I still have no idea if it’s for July, for August, or for 15th July to 15th August, but essentially the Top 10 Cinnamon creators get $300 boost and then the top 11-20 get $50 boost in XRP.

+ $626.19 Coil Boost

The same question for the Coil boost as the Cinnamon boost. I’ve no idea on the timeline, or the reasons for the difference in the boost numbers. This is almost double the boost that I got the month before and I honestly have no idea why. I definitely didn’t produce double the content, so it’s a bit of a mystery.

Costs for September

Nothing for September, although next month there will be a new monthly cost for analytics.

Results for September

Income Total – $676.19

Expenses Total – $0

Profit Total – $676.19

I also earned 96.59 Hive for my posts and investments in the Hive ecosystem… which is worth about $14. I didn’t put it in my income tally because I’m keeping all my Hive on the blockchain. It’s not true revenue.

Analytics

I don’t have the traffic yet for any advertisements or anything, not yet anyway, here are my analytics for September.

Obviously nothing to write home about there… I’ve really got to step up the blogging and the socialising. If anyone has any success on getting their blog websites out there, please let me know.

I’m socialising my posts on Pinterest and Imgur.

So, less action on Pinterest than in my first month, and I don’t have any followers. I think Pinterest requires a ton of activity, and I might need to jazz up my pins to grab people’s attention.

I’m not going to be using Google Analytics anymore. It just goes against everything I believe in… they completely invade everyone’s privacy to collect data to either influence our decisions, or sell it to advertisers. They are much better ways to collect analytics out there.

From today, I’ll be using Fathom Analytics. They’re GDPR-compliant so you don’t have to put a ‘Cookies’ popup, warning or page on your website. It is a monthly subscription service, but we have to get used to paying for things we use on the internet again (else they’ll use us) and they do have a pretty amazing affiliation program – so if you can convince 4 other people to join you in your quest for a less evil internet then it’ll be free for you.
